About Mark Stefanic

Mark Stefanic’s service to the community began in 2004 when he was asked to serve on the Board of the local Workforce Connection a regional state organization that promotes workforce development, skills training, and employment, serving both employers and job seekers. He is still a member of that board highlighting his understanding of the critical need for jobs and job providers in a healthy community.

Mark also served six years on the Board of the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) including two years as their Chairman, promoting tourism and economic development for the City of Rockford and our region. Mark’s experience in the hospitality industry managing restaurants and hotels combined with his marketing degree made his service on the RACVB board invaluable.

Mark was a collaborator on the 2013 Rockford Area Violence Elimination Network (R.A.V.E.N) program. This pilot re-entry program offered support to those returning from the Department of Corrections making their way back home to our community. The program was a collaborative effort with partners including the Illinois Department of Corrections, City of Rockford, Winnebago County, and local service providers. These types of programs help people who have a criminal past with alternatives to a life of crime.

In 2013 Mark participated on the Truancy Advisory Committee to understand the issues associated with truancy and help work on solutions to increase student attendance in our schools.

Since 2011 he has volunteered for the Rock River Development Partnership (RRDP) serving on the Development Team by contributing to the design and financial structure of the project which culminated with the completion of the Indoor Market in 2019. Mark continues to provide volunteer assistance on finance and financial statements for the RRDP.

Mark’s business background in Rockford includes working for developer First Midwest Group as the Director of Business Development from 2002 – 2011, with principal responsibilities for managing multiple businesses in the hotel, hospitality, and family entertainment sectors.  Since 2011 he has been employed at SupplyCore as Director of Projects, with principal responsibilities in Finance, Foreign Currency, and managing the related real estate portfolio.
